Soneva in Aqua

Island Hopper

Explore the Maldives’ most enchanting atolls with our newest voyage which focuses on rare experiences across eight unforgettable days.

Setting sail from Soneva Fushi, travel to Hanifaru Bay, the Raa Atoll, Vaadoo Island, Nibiliga Island, Thulaadho Island and the island of Inhafushi in the Goidhoo Atoll.

Day one:

After boarding Soneva in Aqua, your adventure begins at Hanifaru Bay, located in the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, to snorkel with majestic manta rays. Anchor off a remote sandbank at the northern tip of the atoll just as the sun sets, where you will enjoy canapés and sparkling wine before being served a four-course dinner prepared by our chef onboard. Enjoy the brilliance of the stars unaffected by any artificial light.

Day two:

Cruise north to the Raa Atoll and head to Innamaadhoo Island to witness the ancient local art of making classic wooden dhonis. From there, sail to the deserted island of Lundhufushi, a beautiful and remote location to swim, kayak or SUP and watch the sunset from the beach. Known for the rich bioluminescence plankton in the area, the Raa Atoll offers one of the most spectacular natural experiences, enjoyed by kayak or simply swimming among them for an unforgettable moment.

Day three:

The third day starts with a leisurely cruise south, looking out for dolphins in one of the most undeveloped atolls in the Maldives. After dropping anchor, enjoy thrilling watersports in ultra-clear waters, and discover underwater marine life with the SEABOB or SUP to the island for snorkelling, sunbathing or exploration.

Day four:

Cruise to Nibiligaa Island inside the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Enjoy guided snorkelling with local hawksbill turtles that frequent the reef nearby, then return to a beach picnic on the deserted island. Shortly after, head south to Thulaadhoo which is well known for its rich history in laa jehun lacquerware and visit the local factory where this unique form of art has been passed on from father to son through generations. Guests can choose to dine like a local on land or return to have dinner onboard.

Day five:

Wake up early and catch a few waves at one of the most consistent surf breaks in the Baa Atoll. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast while cruising south to the Goidhoo Atoll and enter the calm and protected Goidhooo lagoon. Rich in marine life, large pods of dolphins and many manta rays are frequently spotted playing in the waves. A guest favourite is guided snorkelling over a unique coral formation known as the Rose Garden, amongst an endless list of activities available.

Day six:

Spend a full day at anchor enjoying activities such as surfing, dolphin watching, guided free diving, a visit to Fulhadhoo or Goidhoo to meet with locals, SUP and kayaking to one of the many deserted sandbanks, or wakeboarding and fun tubing behind Soneva in Aqua. End the day gazing up at the Milky Way from the flybridge, where you may sleep under the stars if you wish.

Day seven:

Begin the day with sunrise yoga followed by breakfast onboard, before gliding effortlessly underwater on our reef glider. Soon after, cruise north to Angafaru Lagoon, with lunch served during the four-hour journey. While under sail, use the trawling rods to catch local tuna or unwind with a complimentary massage.  Once anchored, paddle or kayak to a sandbank for some relaxation in the sun. As the sun sets, it’s the perfect opportunity to go on a guided snorkelling trip to see the reef come to life under the light of the moon and witness bioluminescent plankton dancing in the waves.

Day eight:

Wake up to the last breakfast onboard Soneva in Aqua before cruising back to Soneva Fushi to enjoy lunch on the island.
