Getting to Our Resort 

There are two main ways to arrive at Soneva Jani: either by seaplane from Velana International Airport in Malé, or by flying direct to Maafaru International Airport in the Noonu Atoll, which operates 24/7 and handles domestic and international flights and private charters.

When travelling through Velana International Airport, the Soneva experience begins from the moment you arrive. You will be greeted by a Soneva Representative holding a sign saying “Soneva” who will assist you with your local transfers.* To reach Soneva Jani from Malé, you can take a 45-minute Manta Air seaplane from Malé International Airport direct to the resort.

The Manta Air seaplane may stop en-route at other destinations before arriving at Soneva Jani. Please be aware that the seaplane is operated by Manta Air, so we are bound by their timings and regulations.

When arriving at Maafaru International Airport, your personal Barefoot Guardian will meet and greet you from your flight, assisting with immigration and customs to ensure that your journey is as fast and seamless as possible. We provide a complimentary private speedboat service between Maafaru Airport and Soneva Jani, with a transfer time of just 15 minutes.

Seaplane Transfers:

• Our representative will escort you to the Soneva lounge, just a five-minute car ride away.
• Flight schedules are subject to Manta Air’s discretion.
• Please ensure your international flight lands in Malé no later than 15:30 for your seaplane connection.
• If your flight arrives later than 15:30 we can assist you in booking an overnight stay in Malé to catch the first seaplane flight at 09:00 or book you a domestic flight to Soneva Fushi to take a speedboat to Soneva Jani the next day.

Packing and Flight Tips

1. The casual dress code around the resort and our “No News, No Shoes” philosophy will lighten your suitcase.
2. Pack light! We offer a convenient, complimentary laundry service in all of our villas.
3. The seaplane flight is usually around 45 minutes but may take longer at times, depending on the routing. Restroom facilities are unavailable inflight and we advise that you use the restroom before boarding.
4. Checked-in luggage on the seaplane is limited to 25 kgs per person. If you think your luggage may exceed this, please contact Soneva Reservations.*
5. We provide a range of complimentary non-motorised water sports equipment at the resort. Should you wish to bring your own equipment (such as surf, body, and wakeboards), please notify Reservations of the type of equipment and their dimensions in advance.
