Hosted by René Barbier Meyer, Owner

Clos Mogador

Jan. 31, 2021 | Soneva Fushi & Soneva Jani

Clos Mogador is the consequence of many generations. It all started in France in the 19th. century with Leon Barbier, and later on it moved to Catalonia, where his son, and grandson carried on with the family business named after them; and finally René Barbier III, discovered the Priorat area in the 70’s and started his own project, Clos Mogador, which he runs now with his family.

René is obsessed with terroir and lives alongside his vineyards. All their vineyards are harvested by hand and they wait for optimum phenolic ripeness before the grapes are picked.   Their goal is to facilitate the natural balance of the vineyards to obtain a high-quality grape and achieve good biodiversity accompanied by a regenerative and biodynamic agricultural process.
