Mikaël Silvestre

From December 10, 2021 to December 26, 2021

Mikaël Silvestre is a former French international football player. A product of the Stade Rennais FC youth system, he claimed a first-team spot at only 18 and spent two good seasons with the French club before joining prominent Italian club Inter Milan for the 1998/99 season. However, Mikaël’s career really picked up steam when he moved to Manchester United in 1999. For nine seasons under Sir Alex Ferguson he was a fantastic asset for the club, amassing 361 appearances and recording five League Titles, the FA Cup, the Football League Cup, two FA Community Shield victories, the Intercontinental Club World Cup and the Champions League in May 2008. He transferred to Arsenal for two seasons under the reign of Arsene Wenger, then in 2010, moved to German SV Werder Bremen. In 2013, the French player signed a contract with the MLS side Portland Timbers and featured there from January 2013 to November 2015. He then joined Chennai FC in 2015 for the start of the Indian Super League.

As an international for France between 2001 and 2006, he amassed 40 caps and was part of the team that won the FIFA Confederations Cup in 2001 and 2003 and was runner up in the 2006 World Cup in Germany.

Mikaël will host a series of football camps for our guests at Soneva Fushi and Soneva Jani. Further information on the football camps will be provided shortly.
