Chef Romy Gill is a renowned figure in the culinary world, celebrated for her expertise in Indian cuisine and her innovative approach to cooking. As the former owner and head chef of Romy’s Kitchen in southwest England, she gained national recognition, earning the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in 2016 for her contributions to the culinary arts. Romy has also made a significant impact through her television appearances on shows such as BBC One’s Ready Steady CookCelebrity MasterChef, The One Show and Channel 4’s Packed Lunch.
Beyond her culinary ventures, Romy is a prolific writer, contributing to esteemed publications like BBC Food, The Telegraph and The New York Times. Romy’s debut cookbook, Zaika – Vegan Recipes from India was widely acclaimed, and her second book On The Himalayan Trail further established her as a leading voice in Indian cuisine. Her forthcoming book, due in Autumn 2024, promises to continue her tradition of culinary excellence.
