Masuizumi Sake

From March 24, 2024 to March 25, 2024

Masuda (Masuizumi) Sake Company is a family-owned Sake brewer founded in 1903 in the Iwase district of Toyama Prefecture, a scenic port town in Japan. This well-respected brewery is one of the first houses to start producing aromatic and dry Ginjo-style Sake.

Ryuichiro Masuda is the current head and fifth-generation owner, who continuously works to improve his Sake quality for a more aromatic and cleaner Junmai Daiginjo, made from the best quality rice and polished up to 17%. He also has created a unique style using wine yeast and ageing in an oaks barrel to achieve optimal flavour and is known as one of Japan’s most ardent defenders of sake-making.

While at Soneva Fushi, Ryuichiro will be hosting two Sake events with our Japanese chefs, including a Sake tasting and Sake dinner.
