As part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that Soneva’s younger guests stay inspired and intrigued, we are expanding out education offerings. We want to be able to give children and teenagers the support then need, even when on holiday.
From October 19, 2019, we are proud to announce that Soneva Fushi is partnering with Oppidan Education, a British mentoring firm created to help children change their capabilities, attitudes and beliefs they have about themselves and their education. Oppidan will be hosting two residencies with us, once in October of this year, and again in February of next year.
Because we believe everyone has the right to an education, these workshops and one-to-one sessions will be open to both Soneva’s guests and local children from the Baa Atoll. With Oppidan’s ethos of taking learning out of the classroom, they will be offering complimentary drop-in workshops each morning. Our young guests, and those who call our island home, will get to learn more about the Baa Atoll, Maldivian culture and other key skills. Henry Faber and Walter Kerr, Directors of Oppidan Education, will be leading these workshops and hosting private one-on-ones for those eager to further their educational efforts each afternoon.
