Every so often Soneva’s General Managers and our CEO and Joint Creative Director, Sonu Shivdasani go back to the floor to learn about our resort’s day to day operations. We believe that lifelong learning, no matter what your position, is a necessary part of living a fulfilled life, and who better to learn from than the ones who know the most about their profession?
Recently Sonu visited Soneva Jani’s kitchen to learn from the chefs. During these hands on sessions our Hosts on the floor share their ideas, raise concerns and explain the processes that go on behind the scenes that ensure everything runs smoothly. “Once more, this back-to-the-floor session was extremely useful. I gained many new insights on how we operate. Many thanks to Ranadewa, Senthil, the Cold Kitchen Chef, and Ansari, who were extremely supportive,” said Sonu of his time in the kitchen.
These sessions are invaluable to Soneva and give our General Managers and the Core Team eye-opening, educational and motivational experiences that they would not otherwise get. In the end this helps them come up with solutions to problems and find new innovations and practices to aid our Hosts in their everyday tasks. At Soneva we are always learning and bettering ourselves so we can give our guests experiences that are rare, unique and memorable.
